Government has warned an American company advertising its roof slate product on the Island not to sell the product in Bermuda without permission.

Building materials must be approved by Government before they can be used or sold in Bermuda, stated a letter to Entegra Sales from Larry Williams, a senior official at Planning.

The approval is needed to ensure that imported slate is compatible with Bermuda slate in terms of appearance and integrity as well as free from any toxins since lovcal roofs are used to catch drinking water, he said.

Entegra Sales, a Florida company, placed an advertisement in The Royal Gazette this week pushing a cement tile slate.
