Speeder faces three years off the road
A 22-year-od Pembroke parish man appeared in Magistrates? Court last week for a range of multiple violent offences and speeding offences dating back to the beginning of last year.
Rashad Cooper, of Middletown, Pembroke faces paying up to $1,280 in fines in 2005 and three years of disqualified driving.
Cooper appeared in front of Magistrate Ed King on Friday and denied throwing missiles on May 12, 2004 in St. George?s at P.c. Ronald Taylor and violently resisting arrest and assaulting P.c. Taylor.
He was also charged with using offensive words and shouting, ?F**k you Police, you guys are a bunch of pussies leave me the f**k alone.?
Cooper was charged with speeding in Devonshire on January 1, 2004 on North Shore Road at a speed of 83 kph. He faced another speeding charge ? driving at 55 kph on the Causeway on June 15.
Cooper pleaded guilty to the offence of using offensive words and not guilty to throwing missiles, assaulting a Police Officer, and violently resisting arrest.
He will go to trial on March 4, 2005. He will be sentenced on that date for the offence of using words in a public place.
