Dame Jennifer Smith of the Progressive Labour Party beat the United Bermuda Party's Kenneth Bascome by just eight votes in the 2003 General Election. Gavin Smith, standing as the Gombey Liberation Party's sole candidate, picked up just 16 votes. Dame Jennifer and Mr. Bascome will face each other again on December 18.
