Students get hands dirty
A group of students from Bermuda College and CedarBridge Academy have spent their Easter holiday poking around your garbage.
The students were hired by the Ministry of Works and Engineering and Housing to undertake an in-depth study on Bermuda?s garbage. The Government hopes the study will lead to a better understanding of Bermuda?s disposal habits.
It will also help determine if Island residents are recycling and participating in other waste reduction schemes.
Students have spent the last week sifting through random samples of garbage and weighing out the various components at the Tynes Bay Waste Treatment Facility.
The study concludes today and the information gathered will enable the Ministry to determine which waste issues need to be addressed.
