A 22 year-old man who appeared in Magistrates' Court on two charges of breaking and entering was given a six month suspended sentence and a $125 fine.

Shannon Jakeeba Trott of Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to breaking into his uncle's house and stealing $35 in coins.

Trott also pleaded guilty to breaking into another house and stealing $50 in coins, but denied stealing a Sony radio.

His bike was identified outside the homes when the break-ins occurred.

Prosecutor Oonagh Vancrosson said Trott had previous convictions.

Defence lawyer Arnold Todd said: "Trott deeply regrets what he has done and has decided to turn his life around.

"He also has a child who is three years old, is attending the Bermuda Regiment and is employed.

"I suggest a Social Inquiry Report with the view to putting him on probation."

Mrs. Vancrosson said: "He was sent to prison previously and has had probation for the same offences."

Magistrate Justin Williams gave Simmons a six-month sentence suspended for two years and fined him $125.

Trott thanked Mr. Williams for giving him another chance.
