Swizzle owner shrugs off vandalism

Swizzle on South Shore owner Jay Correia was again forced to close his bar after a vandal put two cement blocks through windows early yesterday.

The pub was temporarily forced to shut after a teen was shot by a man on the back of a motorbike outside the Warwick nightspot late last month.

Mr. Correia said he wasn?t too worried about again losing lunchtime trade after the latest incident which he doesn?t believe is connected with the shooting. He said: ?We have recovered pretty quickly. It?s an unfortunate incident but it sometimes happens in the bar business. We are soldiering on.?

The pub was set to reopen last night.

Tuesday?s attack by an unidentified male at about 2.20 a.m. was caught on camera and Mr. Correia said he was putting more cameras in.

Two windows and a sliding door were destroyed and Mr. Correia said it would cost a couple of hundred dollars to put right.

Police have yet to arrest anybody over last month?s shooting which put an 18-year-old man in hospital with a wound to his upper chest.
