Police are investigating what appears to be a case of street justice for two men who are believed to have robbed a taxi driver ? only to be found just hours later, beaten and half-naked.

The suspected robbers got in a taxi on Monday night on Front Street in Hamilton and asked the 68-year-old driver to take them to Tucker?s Town.

They ordered the driver to pull over at Devonshire Bay Road and one of the suspects gripped him around the neck and demanded money.

The driver managed to get away from his two attackers run to a nearby house. Meanwhile, the would-be robbers drove off in the taxi. Police responded to the incident at 10.30 p.m. and spoke with the taxi driver, according to Police report.

But roughly four hours later, officers were called out again to a report of a disturbance at the junction of Tribe Road No. 5 and Ord Road in Paget.

On arrival Police officers found the stolen taxi, the same taxi driver who had reported the robbery and the two robbery suspects.

Both suspects claimed to have been assaulted by a group of men and stripped of their clothing. One suspect was found naked from the waist down while the other was found unconscious and naked from the waist down nearby.

One was treated for abrasions and later released into Police custody, while the other suspect is being treated for a broken leg. No money was taken from the victim in this incident.
