Police are investigating an incident at the White Hill Club in Sandys yesterday morning in which an 18-year old was attacked by a machete-wielding 16-year-old.

Police spokesman, Dwayne Caines said that at about 1.45 a.m. Police were called the club on Middle Road.

He said it appeared the victim was at a function at the club with friends and went to buy drinks.

?As he did so, he was attacked by a young man with a machete,? the spokesman said. He added that, according to friends, the two men knew each other.

The victim was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a four inch gash to the top of his head and a deep cut to his arm, both of which required stitches. He was later released.

Mr. Caines said the 16-year-old suspect, who is believed to be from Sandys, fled the scene before Police arrived.

Police are appealing to witnesses, or anyone with information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit at 234-1010.
