A 16-year-old who broke into Clearwater Middle School and stole $50 as well as downloaded some Internet porn was given two years probation in plea court yesterday.

"You are a big concern," Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves told 16-year-old John William O'Connor. "I have read the probation reports... you are going downhill. You want to be a man too early."

A probation report was ordered after O'Connor was found guilty of breaking into the school, eating lunch there, stealing the money and surfing the Internet.

Mr. Greaves gave O'Connor two years of probation, and ordered him to attend counselling as directed by Court Services. O'Connor will also have a curfew for the two years, which Mr. Greaves said probation will impose.

"You will also abstain from all alcohol and drug use," he said. "You will undergo random drug testing. You also have to pay back the money you stole.

"You will appear in court on the last Friday of every month at 2.30 p.m. for a review by me," he added. "You comply with everything, you will be alright. You don't comply, I will come down on you like a ton of bricks."
