Teenager jailed
A 17-year-old St. George?s youth was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday for breaking his probation in Magistrates? Court.
John O?Connor was sentenced to three years probation in November 11, 2003 for house breaking offences.
He had to meet the conditions of his probation or be sentenced to three years at the Co-Educational facility in Ferry Reach, St. George?s.
Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves read a report written by O?Connor?s probation officer to the Court, which claimed that for five months, O?Connor reported for his mandatory appointments, held a full-time job and stopped taking marijuana.
But by February, 2004, he refused to report and ignored all contacts with his probation officer, to which Mr. Greaves said: ?You don?t do that.?
