Three teenagers were arrested after Police found three machetes and a samurai sword following a chase.

Officers had attended a report of a disturbance at the St. George's Cricket Club on Wellington Slip Road at 12.10 am on Saturday. On arrival, officers saw several auxiliary cycles speeding away from the area.

According to a spokesman, Police pursued the cycles to Wellington Back Road, where the youngsters attempted to flee on foot.

A 16-year-old Hamilton parish boy, a 17-year-old Warwick boy and a 16-year-old St George's boy were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed weapon after the machetes and sword were recovered from nearby bushes.
