A thief made off with almost $1,000 in cash and various valuable items after breaking into a Dock Hill, Devonshire residence on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Dwayne Caines said that besides the cash, the culprit also stole an antique gold watch with a square face and a brown strap, a black Timex watch, a Pentax digital camera, a silver Compaq laptop computer, a white Apple I-Pod with accessories, a blue Nokia cellular telephone, a silver and green Motorola cellular telephone and a grey and black sports bag with various personal items.
