A slew of random break-ins and thefts were reported across the Island on Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.

Residences and businesses alike were targeted, and police are making inquiries.

Machinery was taken from a Warwick hardware store sometime between Saturday evening and Tuesday night.

A complainant from Fisher's Paint & Hardware reported that he locked the store on Saturday evening but returned Tuesday to find that a pressure washer, an airless spray system, two jigsaws, a sander and drills were missing.

A home in Sandys was also broken into sometime Tuesday morning. Police were told that the culprit took some coins, a flashlight and a fire extinguisher.

Two further complainants reported that their homes were broken into but that coins were the only items taken. Police were told that a Devonshire home was left secure on Tuesday morning but that the resident returned in the afternoon to find that someone had been inside. The complainant claimed that the culprit got into the house by force and looked through rooms to find the coins.

In another incident, a parrot was taken from a Hamilton Parish home. Police were told that the bird went missing some time either Monday night or sometime on Tuesday.
