Toddler drowns
A one-year-old boy drowned last night ? after frantic calls by parents to 911 that their child went missing.
Police responded to the call shortly after 8.19 p.m. last night at a residence on Ocean Avenue, Paget.
The name of the boy, believed to be 13 months old, was not released by Press time last night.
The child was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where Emergency Room staff were remaining tight lipped.
It was believed the child was found in a non-responsive state in a pool.
An individual who saw the boy jumped into the pool and took him out and performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and waited for emergency services to arrive.
Upon arrival, the boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9.18 p.m.
Police said no further information would be provided last night.
It was the second drowning in four months involving a child.
In February, Jason Sean Tarae Bell went missing from a Whitney Avenue residence and after a 45-minute search was found dead in a neighbour?s swimming pool.
Within minutes of the boy?s disappearance, the entire neighbourhood was searching for him.
