A company accused of evading paying $239,000 in taxes will have its case heard in the Supreme Court.

Darrell Contracting Services Ltd. appeared in Magistrate's Court yesterday charged with 89 counts of tax evasion but Magistrate Edward King said the matter would be heard in the higher court as it contained indictable offences.

Defence lawyer Victoria Pearman, appearing for the defendant asked to have the case adjourned until November 15, but Mr. King set the matter down for mention on October 28. The penalty in Supreme Court, if found guilty, could be up to five years imprisonment and, or, a $10,000 fine.
