Dennis Tucker, the long-standing managing director and vice-president of Sonesta Beach Hotel, has resigned, it was reported last night.

The hotel's owner Clifford Schorer said last night he could not comment, and would leave any announcement to Mr. Tucker, or to Sonesta Hotels, the US company which manages the landmark Southampton property.

He told The Royal Gazette: "I am not prepared to comment at this time, and I am leaving it to Sonesta corporate and Mr. Tucker to comment." Mr. Tucker did not return a telephone call last night.
