Tucker's Point denies withdrawal of major investor
Tucker's Point Club yesterday scotched rumours that a major investor has pulled out.
An e-mail from Bermuda.com owner Tony Brannon to leading tourism figures yesterday stated Hardin Capital, which it claimed was "the driving force and funding for the hotel," had pulled out which would stall construction of the hotel.
But the company said yesterday that Atlanta-based Hardin only provided a team of construction experts to manage the building of the club but had nothing to do with funding.
"For the sake of efficiency, that team is now working directly for Tucker's Point Club, eliminating the need for an ongoing relationship with Hardin," said the company in a statement.
"Importantly, Hardin Capital has never provided financing for any part of the Tucker's Point Club. Its relationship with Tucker's Point was limited to construction management services.
"Tucker's Point continues to be completely committed to the development of its hotel. Demolition and design are ongoing.
"The development of our hotel is supported by Government and through the continued success of our real estate sales."
