Two men have been charged in connection with an outbreak of violence at a football match at Devonshire Recreation Club last year which was captured on TV.

At Magistrates' Court yesterday, Jahkeil Leeandrew Samuels, 17, of Middle Road, Paget, denied possession of a machete and causing an affray at a game on October 29.

Wayne Wales, 22, of Princess Street, Pembroke, was also charged in connection with the incident but he did not appear before Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves. Police asked for the television pictures of the incident, which happened during a Martonmere Cup semi-final between Devonshire Colts and Devonshire Cougars.
