Two men were fined $500 each for possession of marijuana yesterday in Magistrates' Court.

Lionel Andre Sinclair Swan, 47, of Devonshire pleaded guilty to being in possession on July 26 of this year.

Crown counsel Wayne Caines told the court Police found the cannabis on Swan's person when acting on a search warrant.

Plant material was found in a clear, plastic twist in Swan's pocket.

Analysis by a Government technician later revealed the plant material contained 0.75 grams of cannabis.

And a Pembroke Parish man pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana on June 30 on Glebe Road.

Cencil, 34, was in the company of three other men who walked away as Police approached.

Cencil was found with plant material in a cigarette box.

"It's a joint," Cencil replied when Police cautioned him.

Government analysis later revealed the joint contained 0.15 grams of cannabis.
