Warning over red sunglasses

The Department of Consumer Affairs warned residents this week that two products sold in Bermuda have been recalled in the US because they are unsafe.

Sunglasses and toddler caps sold by the Walt Disney Co. contain high levels of lead. The sunglasses are red with dark plastic lenses and were sold with red-billed toddler caps with either Mickey Mouse or Stitch characters on them.

Owners of the product should contact the Disney Co. on 866-802-2782 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Also being recalled are some PlayStation 2 consoles which come with faulty adapters and are fire hazards.

Consoles with the codes 2004.08 to 2004.11, 2003.12 or serial numbers beginning with F3 should be returned to the store where they were bought.

Sony is offering free replacement adapters.

If the console was purchased overseas, residents should contact Sony on 888-780-7690.
