We are tired of shoddy CableVision service, say Forest Hills residents

After three years of having intermittent cable service, residents of Forest Hills in Warwick have decided to publicly complain.

Zina Brangman spokesperson for area residents said she and several of her neighbours have suffered with terrible service from Bermuda CableVision.

The physical cable in the area is neither overhead nor underground.

It is on the ground. In some areas it is draped over tree limbs.

?Towards the entrance to Forest Hills the cable runs across the ground.

?It is just tacked to the road. It?s the tackiest thing I have ever seen,? Mrs. Brangman said.

?With traffic constantly going over it we get disconnected every five to ten days.?

Mrs. Brangman said residents have spoken to employees and technicians from CableVision who tell them that it can be fixed but that the company does not have the manpower.

?One man even told my husband ?maybe you can contact the general manager and see about doing it yourself?.

?So it?s left up to us that if we want it fixed we have to fix it ourselves,? she said.

Mrs. Brangman also complained that the company had never offered or given a discount to either herself or her neighbours for the shoddy service.

?We pay our full cable bill every month,? she said.

But Mrs. Brangman admitted that the neighbourhood has never approached CableVision for a discount.

She also admitted that she had not tried to switch providers although there is now an option.

?We have spoken to WOW. I guess it?s just having to go through the motions of having a new dish,? she said.

Last week CableVision general manager Jeremy Elmas said he had not been aware of the problem until contacted by .

?We were informed of a service issue in the Forest Hills Area on Wednesday.

?At that time we began to investigate the situation, and have since re-established service to customers and made an assessment of the work needing to be done.

?There had been a temporary cable line installed some time ago, but the final repair work had never been completed.

?We apologise for not being aware there was an ongoing issue and we are taking steps to get the permanent line in place by the end of next week.?
