A prisoner charged with attacking two prison officers appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday to answer the charges.

Eli Hill, 28, was charged with intent to do grievous bodily harm to prison officer Otis Warren Phillips on March 10 at Westgate, where he is currently incarcerated. He was also charged with intent to do bodily harm to a second Westgate officer, Gary Smith, on the same day.

Hill was not required to enter a plea as the offence is indictable and must be heard in Supreme Court. He returns to court on May 19 for mention.
