Receivers for White Sands Hotel are currently considering a number of bids for the closed Paget property and hope to be able to announce the new owner within 30 days.

The hotel went into receivership last month and staff have not been paid by American owner James M. Dwyer since December.

Receiver D. Geoffrey Hunter of Pricewaterhousecoopers said yesterday: "We are now evaluating the offers we have received.

"There has been over a dozen people looked at the property and we've received a number of offers, from Bermuda and overseas, and we are dealing with the offers that we have."

The potential owners have all said they want to return it to the market as a functioning hotel as soon as possible. Following the closure of the deal, the expectation is that the hotel will be back in the market in 30 to 45 days."
