Windreach Recreational Village will be hosting a conference workshop entitled The Human Animal Bond: Working Clinically, Teaching and Therapeutic Activities with People and Animals.

The workshop, to be presented by. Dr Susan Brooks, is for professionals and practitioners and will take place at the Warwick facility from November 13-15. In a partnership with the Animal and Garden House, the workshop is a culmination of two years of effort researching and piloting animal assisted activities at Windreach.

Dr. Brooks is a clinical psychologist who serves on the board of the Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association and she will demonstrate the value of the human and animal bond for people of all ages from children to the elderly and highlight the partnership they can provide to a variety of disciplines including occupational and physiotherapy.

Windreach will host a reception on Thursday, November 13, from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and Dr. Brooks will make a presentation on the value of the human animal bond illustrated by a video.
