Workforce survey scrapped

Government has scrapped the compulsory Workforce Survey conducted by the Commission for Unity and Racial Equality (CURE).

Information normally collected in that survey has now been added to the annual Employment Survey which the Statistics Department mails to all employers every year.

The mandatory survey will determine the number of people who work in Bermuda and offer some description of who they are. Employers are asked how many people work for them, their ages, race, nationality and job descriptions.

For the first time the survey will also require employers to report on the gross annual income and entitlements of each of their employees.

The Department of Statistics in a press release yesterday said that employers who had not received forms should contact them. Anyone needing assistance in completing the survey can call the department on 297- 7761 ext. 1774 or 1652.
