?You can drink on your birthday ? but don?t drive?
A Pembroke man paid the price for drinking too much on his birthday.
Kenroy Castle, 37, of Ingham Vale, was arrested for impaired driving.
And tests revealed he was more than three times over the legal limit.
Officers arrested Castle after he was observed trying to turn on the junction of Elliott Street and Court Street.
When he lost control of the vehicle, officers approached him.
His eyes were bloodshot and he smelled of alcohol.
Castle told the officers: ?It?s my birthday and I had a few.?
A breathalyser test revealed he had 329 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80. Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined him $800 and disqualified him from all vehicles for 12 months.
?You can drink on your birthday but don?t drive?, he said.
