Police appeal over gang attack
Police have renewed an appeal witnesses to an incident when four men were caught on CCTV attacking another man.
Police say they observed four men attacking another on CCTV, on Reid Street, near the junction with Burnaby Street, at around 10.45 p.m. on Sunday.
When Police arrived, the man’s attackers tried to escape in a car but were caught. They remain in Police custody. The suspects were all in their early 20s.
Police recovered a bladed weapon nearby.
The victim, a 26-year-old Southampton man, suffered lacerations to his face, as well as his body and was taken to hospital. He was later released.
Police are asking for any witnesses to the incident to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Division at 295-0011.
Cash, iPod stolen
An iPod and cash were stolen from a residence on Ewing Street, Pembroke.
The complainant said between 3 a.m. and 6.45 p.m. on Sunday a burglar entered her home and stole the items.
Two other burglaries were reported on Sunday. At 11.30 a.m. Police received a report of a burglary at an Orchard Grove, Pembroke residence.
The complainant said between 1 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. someone entered her home and stole cash, jewellery and personal items.
At 7 p.m. Police responded to a burglary at a First Avenue, Warwick residence, where the complainant said between 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 and 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 an unknown culprit entered her home.
The culprit stole a quantity of cash and personal items.
Inquiries into all three incidents are underway.
