Burglar caught in the act

A Forest Hill Drive, Warwick home was burglarised during the early hours of yesterday morning, with the culprit caught in the act.

Around 5.20 a.m. the complainant told Police he was earlier awakened by noises from inside his home.

After investigating, he discovered that an unknown man had gained entry.

The complainant confronted the man, who was then able to escape with a quantity of cash and a lady's wallet containing coins and personal items.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male approximately five feet, ten inches tall, of average build, with straight low cut hair. Police are investigating.

Five arrested for impaired driving

Police over the weekend arrested five people on suspicion of impaired driving and seven people in connection with reported burglaries.

There were also 21 reported damage only road traffic collisions, eight reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and six vehicles reported taken without their owners' consent.
