Apartment complex hit by burglar
Two burglaries took place at the same Warwick apartment complex on Tuesday.
The complex is located on Cobbs Hill Road in Warwick. On arrival at the first incident, officers spoke with the complainants who stated that someone gained entry to their home while they were away, sometime between 7.55 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The culprit stole a quantity of electronic equipment and a quantity of jewellery. Police are inquiring into the incident.
Similarly, at around 4.50 p.m. that day, Police attended a neighbouring apartment where the complainants said a Dell laptop computer and jewellery had been taken. The complainants stated that they returned home around 4.35 p.m. to discover someone had gained entry to their home while it was unoccupied. Police are investigating.
Woman robbed of her purse
A 35-year-old Warwick woman was dragged off her motorcycle by two men who came up from behind on another bike.
The woman said at 7.20 p.m. on Sunday she was driving along Trinity Church Road, Hamilton Parish when two unknown men came up beside her on another motorcycle. The passenger of the second vehicle grabbed her black handbag, causing her and her motorcycle to fall to the ground.
After being threatened with a bladed article, the woman handed over her handbag which contained a Blackberry cell phone, cash and personal items.
The men then drove away, west on Trinity Church Road.
The woman was not injured in the incident and inquiries are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
Cash and alcohol stolen
The owner of a South Road, Smith's home called Police at 10.05 p.m. on Sunday to report that sometime between 8 a.m. on Friday on December 21 and 8.30 p.m. on Sunday someone had entered his home taking cash and alcohol.
Laptop stolen in burglary
Police reported a burglary at a Store Lane, Devonshire home at 5.45 p.m. on Monday.
The complainant told them that sometime between 7.45 a.m. and 9.45 a.m. that day, someone entered the house and stole a silver Dell laptop computer.
LCD flat screen TV stolen
A thief removed a black Philips 47-inch LCD flat screen TV, four pairs of ladies jeans and 12 pairs of ladies sunglasses from a Smith's Parish business on Tuesday.
At the store, named 'Calais', the complainant told Police officers that sometime between 2 a.m. and 2.30 a.m. someone gained entry.
