Breaking news: BSoA gets temporary reprieve

The Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery was today granted a temporary reprieve from being evicted from City Hall.

Landlord the Corporation of Hamilton said in a statement that it had told the BSoA at a meeting today that it was extending the gallery's lease for six months to January 1, 2009 to provide time to come up with "a better solution for both parties".

The Gallery had previously been told that it would have to leave the premises it has occupied for almost 50 years by the end of June because the Corporation needed its premises for office space.
