CableVision upgrades service

Cable users are set to benefit from better reception and viewing quality thanks to Bermuda CableVision's latest round of upgrades.

CableVision announced that from Friday it will proceed with phase two of the enhancements to its satellite dish alignment and other technical upgrades.

The process, phase one of which was completed earlier this year, is designed to improve reception for customers, while boosting the overall quality and reliability of CableVision's systems and paving the way for new channels and services.

Wayne Williams, headend supervisor, said: "On November 6, 7, 8 and 9, we will be implementing the next phase of these important technical upgrades, which include further alignments to our satellite dishes at Laffan Street as well as installing some new equipment in our headend.

"Customers may experience brief, temporary outages on several channels on these dates; however we will do our utmost to keep any inconvenience to a minimum by completing most of the major work in the middle of the night.

"Since all customers will benefit from these upgrades, we appreciate their patience as we implement this next phase. We are committed to remaining on the cutting edge of technology for the ongoing benefit of all our customers.

"CableVision advises that if customers experience any issues after an outage, they need only unplug their terminal, wait 15 seconds and plug the terminal back in again."
