Bermuda's famous Crystal Caves are to be showcased on American networks the Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel with a film crew here this week to capture their magic.

The footage will be packaged with features on other elite resorts around the world in the 30-minute 'Great Taste' show, explained Director of Photography Chris Verna.

Asked why the caves had been chosen he said:"It's the uniqueness of the caves.

"It's such a close destination but people don't know about them. They are absolutely gorgeous."

Around 1.6 million years old the caves were discovered in 1907 by two boys attempting to retrieve a lost cricket ball -something reenacted for the cameras by eight-year-olds Jahzyah Smith and Darius Tucker II, son of Wilkinson Estate property manager Darius Tucker who is also an Opposition MP.

The film crew also took footage of Crystal's smaller sister cave, Fantasy which is just yards away and was reopened in 2001 after being closed to the public for decades.
