Two dog utility teams will represent Bermuda in an international contest this week.

The teams — Bermuda Rum Runners and Bermuda Pickled Onions — left the Island on Saturday to compete in the United States Dog Agility Association’s Cynosport World Games in Arizona from November 1 to 5.

Coach Jonathan Dyer said: “The teams are very much looking forward to representing Bermuda and participating at the World Games. Since early January, they have been practising together every week to help ensure their best performance.” The Rum Runners are: Rose Dyer with Lucy, a Nova Scotia duck toller; Vincent Madeiros, with Zipper, a border collie and Kathy Williams and Whispa the whippet.

The Pickled Onions are: Rose Dyer with Kelly, a Nova Scotia duck toller; Frank Williams with Fizzy, a whippet and Kathy Williams with Whimsey the whippet. The teams qualified for the event during agility trials held in December 2005.
