Dozens at Barr's Bay for PGA party
Dozens of party people headed to Barr's Bay Park last night to watch the final round of the tournament, have a few drinks and catch up with friends.
The Department of Tourism sponsored Turn Bermuda On!, three PGA related golf events with the final taking place yesterday evening. A 30 foot inflatable projection screen along with about a dozen flat screen TV's were set for everyone's viewing pleasure.
The purpose of the event was for those who missed the tournament to play catch up with friends and watch it for free.
Department of Tourism provided one free drink sponsored by Bacardi and a meal ticket where one could get fries, fishcakes, burgers, or chicken burgers at Keith's Kitchen or DeGraff's lunch carts.
There where also many giveaways including a box of three golf balls, tees, knapsacks and t-shirts. A putting challenge was set up where if one made two out of three putts, they won a t-shirt as a prize.
JaKoMa Agency models handed out the giveaways and served as greeters and hosts. They all wore 'Feel The Love' shirts and the girls donned hot pink wigs.
The downfall of the party was when the inflatable TV deflated.
The screen started to fall, fell halfway, then completely collapsed and the flat screen's lost the signal as well. Even though there weren't a whole lot of people and there were a few technical difficulties, it was nice to see people come together and support this Island's initiative in the Grand Slam.
