Zach Johnson

Age - 31

Height - 5ft 11in

Weight - 160lbs

Birthplace: Iowa City, IA

A relatively late bloomer, Zach Johnson has admitted to not being the best player on his high school or college team but was quoted in his Masters speech saying: "I just kept getting better every year." He received early inspiration when his uncle, Tom Harris, qualified for the 1975 NAIA National Golf Tournament.

He turned professional in 1998 on the developmental tour circuit and in 2003, he topped the money list on the Nationwide Tour with then record earnings of $494,882. He won his first PGA Tour event at the 2004 BellSouth Classic.

On April 8, 2007, Johnson won the Masters in Augusta, Georgia, by a margin of two strokes over Tiger Woods, Retief Goosen, and Rory Sabbatini. It was his first major title. His score of 289 (+1) tied Sam Snead (1954) and Jack Burke Jr. (1956) for the highest winning score ever recorded for this tournament. His victory took him from No.56 to No.15 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He was the first person outside the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking to win the Masters in the history of the ranking.

Johnson and his wife Kim reside in Orlando, Florida, and are members of First Baptist Church in Orlando. He credits Jesus for his win of the 2007 Masters.

His current PGA tour money and position are $3,187,621 and number seven.

Angel Cabrera

Age - 37

Height - 6ft

Weight - 210lbs

Birthplace - Cordoba, Argentina

Turned Pro - 1989

Known affectionately as "El Pato" (the duck) Angel Cabrera is the 2007 US Open champion. Cabrera turned professional at the age of 20. His first three visits to the European Tour Qualifying School were unsuccessful, but on his fourth trip in 1995 he qualified for membership of the European Tour in 1996. He retained his card comfortably in his first three seasons and improved substantially to tenth on the Order of Merit in 1999. He has since finished in the top 15 of the Order of Merit on six occasions, with a best placing of fifth in 2005.

Cabrera's first two professional wins came in Latin America in 1995 and his first European Tour win was the 2001 Argentine Open, which was sanctioned by the European Tour on a one-off basis that year. In 2005 he won the BMW Championship, which is the most prestigious event on the European Tour schedule outside of the majors and the World Golf Championships.

Cabrera earned enough money ($623,504) on the PGA Tour in 2006 playing as a non-member to earn a tour card for 2007. He won his first major championship in dramatic style at the 2007 US Open at Oakmont near Pittsburgh. At a post-match interview, he said: "Well, there are some players that have psychologists, some have sports psychologists, I smoke."

His current year PGA tour money and position are $1,561,418 and number 32.

Padraig Harrington

Age - 35

Height - 6ft 1in

Weight - 196lbs

Birthplace - Dublin, Ireland

Irishman Padraig Harrington is currently the highest placed European in the world rankings. He has won tournaments on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. He is the holder of the Claret Jug as the winner of the 2007 Open Championship, having defeated Sergio García in a four-hole play-off by one shot. In doing so, he became the first European to win a major since Paul Lawrie won the same tournament in 1999, at the same venue, Carnoustie in Angus, Scotland.

His first professional victory came in the 1996 Spanish Open, but for the next few years the most remarkable thing about his career was the number of times he finished second in European Tour events without ever bettering that position, including four second places in five events in late 1999.

However in 2000 he discovered a winning touch, and he had at least one win on the European Tour each year from then up to 2004. He has finished in the top ten on the European Tour's Order of Merit seven times, including second places in 2001 and 2002 and third places in 2003 and 2004 and eventually won the Order of Merit in 2006.

His current year PGA tour money and position are $2,457,208 and number 14.
