Gas prices drop after reaching record high

The cost of fuel dropped on Friday, after gas prices reached an all-time high last month.This newspaper reported on November 26 that the maximum retail price of gas had jumped 10.2 cents or 5.8 percent to $1.85 per litre — making it about 24 cents or 14.9 percent more than a year ago. Diesel increased at the same time by 10.9 cents to $1.65 per litre, and kerosene 11.7 cents to $1.43 per litre.However, the Ministry of Finance announced yesterday that these prices had dropped with effect Friday December 14.

Gas went down by 7.7 cents per litre to a top price of $1.77 per litre. Diesel dropped by 3.9 cents to $1.61 per litre. Kerosene dropped by 3.7 cents to $1.39 per litre.
