A Sandys man pleaded guilty to impaired driving yesterday in Magistrates' Court.

Lyndon Woods, 28, of Cooks Hill, was arrested on July 1 in Paget after officers on duty by Supermart on Front Street heard high revs from a bike.

Officers saw a blue Suzuki bike with a man riding at high speed without a helmet. Woods was stopped on Crow Lane and said: "I'm just going around the corner, 30 seconds away. Someone stole my helmet."

He admitted to drinking three drinks and asked the officers to give him a break. A breathalyser test, however, revealed he was almost two times over the legal limit.

Woods was fined $1,000 and was disqualified from driving all vehicles for one year.
