It's true: Daily breakfast really does make a difference
Thursday, February 7
It's funny how you are told things your whole life but never really pay much attention to them and then suddenly the information becomes relevant to you. It's always said that breakfast is the most important meal but I've only ever been a sporadic breakfast eater. As part of the Challenge I've been making more of a concerted effort to eat breakfast and it's really true — eating a decent breakfast impacts the rest of my day. The days I don't have a good breakfast I'm hungry by 10 a.m. and peckish for the rest of the day. If I do have a good breakfast, it's noon before I even think of food again and I'm not generally as hungry for the rest of the day. I just have to remember that on the mornings when I'm debating whether I'd rather have a few more minutes to snooze or have something to eat!

Went out to dinner with friends tonight. I was naughty and shared some calamari as a starter. It was yummy, fried, tastiness but then I barely got through half of my main course — a very healthy tuna steak. I redeemed myself somewhat though as we went dancing afterwards and I made a concerted effort to boogie off the calamari!

Cleaning the house is a pretty good workout! Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming — you can really work up a good sweat doing that stuff especially if you have some good music going while you're at it!
Sunday February 10
I was told today that "the lunges must be working because your jeans aren't looking as stuffed in the backside as they used to." I still haven't decided whether or not I should be insulted by this comment¿
Monday February 11
I haven't set foot in the gym in more than a week. I was feeling guilty about it at first but I'm still staying active and that's the most important thing. Tonight I took a nice long walk around my neighbourhood and then did lunges and jumped rope in my yard. It was nice to be outside in the fresh air.

I'm enjoying these evening walks around the neighbourhood. It's a nice way to unwind after work.

According to the scale at Endsmeet Animal Hospital, Scout hasn't lost an ounce. She hasn't gained anything either so I guess that's a good thing but we may have to up the swimming sessions. One of us has to make some significant progress here!
