Knife wielding robber on golf course

A man wielding a knife tried to rob a man and woman in their golf cart on Saturday.The incident took place at St. George's Golf Course at 12.15 p.m. but the male golfer managed to foil the man's attempt, causing him to run off.A Police spokesman said: "It appears that the victims, a 48-year-old Paget man and a 44-year-old Pembroke woman, were in a golf cart making their way to the No.1 green when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article.

The incident took place at St. George's Golf Course at 12.15 p.m. but the male golfer managed to foil the man's attempt, causing him to run off.

A Police spokesman said: "It appears that the victims, a 48-year-old Paget man and a 44-year-old Pembroke woman, were in a golf cart making their way to the No.1 green when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article.

"The suspect attempted to take the victims' property from the cart, however the suspect was unsuccessful, as the man managed to manoeuvre the cart away from him. The suspect made good his escape on foot into the trees."

The man is described as black, 6ft tall, slim build and wore tracksuit pants and a sweatshirt.
