Lobster poacher fined $800

A man has admitted to illegally possessing lobsters during the closed season.Crown Counsel Nicole Smith told Magistrates' Court that Deshaun Simons, 44, of Hamilton Parish was apprehended by the Police on August 6.The accused man was riding a Suzuki Address motor cycle and carrying a five gallon bucket containing mussels, she said yesterday.

Crown Counsel Nicole Smith told Magistrates' Court that Deshaun Simons, 44, of Hamilton Parish was apprehended by the Police on August 6.
The accused man was riding a Suzuki Address motor cycle and carrying a five gallon bucket containing mussels, she said yesterday.
When Police asked Simons to open his bike seat there were two Spiny Lobsters underneath.
He admitted a further charge of having one of the lobsters which were undersized and also to having lobster catching equipment and diving equipment without a diver's licence.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him a total of $800.
