A Sandys man has denied possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and using threatening words.
Steven Proctor, 57, of Rockywold was charged with possession of a screwdriver at Ordnance Island on August 1. He also pleaded not guilty to using threatening words to Rosita Smith. The defendant allegedly said: "Shut the f*** up. I will stab you with this screwdriver and I'm not afraid to use it".
Proctor was bailed in the amount of $1,000 with one surety. His trial will take place on August 24.
