Pair denies robbing man of jewellery
A pair of teenagers has pleaded not guilty to robbing a man of jewellery and keys.
Kavon Hart and Devon Hewey — both 19 — denied targeting Kenton Smith using force on November 6 during an appearance at Magistrates' Court.
Mr. Smith is said, by prosecutors, to have been robbed of a gold pendant and chain worth $4,307 during the incident.
Hart, of Grandstand Lane, Sandys, also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of receiving stolen goods in relation to the jewellery.
Hewey, of Palmetto Road, Devonshire, denied charges of possessing an offensive weapon in the form of a machete on Cottage Hill East, Hamilton Parish, and unlawfully wounding Mr. Smith.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered the pair to return to court for trial on April 15 next year. He bailed them in the amount of $3,000 until that date and banned them from contacting Mr. Smith.
