An American Airlines flight enroute from Boston to San Juan, Puerto Rico, with 166 passengers, diverted to Bermuda yesterday afternoon when a passenger suffered an apparent heart attack. The 69-year-old passenger, was attended by a physician onboard until the flight landed at Bermuda International Airport shortly before 2 p.m. Emergency personnel met the plane as soon as it touched down and rushed the stricken passenger to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance. However, resumption of the flight to San Juan was was further delayed when the co-pilot began to experience chest pains while EMTs were tending the passenger, and he too required hospitalisation.
