Premier to speak at tourism summit in China
Premier Ewart Brown is to speak at a tourism summit in China in October.
Bermuda is a major sponsor of the summit, hosted by China's Tourism Administration, will bring together more than 400 tourism industry leaders from over 50 countries.
The Second World Tourism Marketing Summit will run October 28-30 and give countries the chance to swap ideas and discuss joint ventures. Dr. Brown said the summit was a natural part of Bermuda's tourism objectives and strategy to keep up with the rapidly changing travel industry.
He added: "Many of these changes are driven by a more mature, experienced and demanding consumer."
He said it was essential that marketing, advertising and product development teams obtained an in-depth analysis of what travellers truly desire. He said: "I am confident that the summit in Beijing, with its high level speakers and experts from around the globe, will provide the Bermuda delegation an opportunity to glean new ideas for expanding our tourism reach and explore new joint venture opportunities."
