Thieves have been climbing into homes via air-conditioning units, Police warn. Officers are reminding residents to ensure their units are securely fitted, and to always ask for identification from individuals who call at the door and ask to come in, claiming to be from Police, Fire, Belco, or other organisations.

Anyone who is in doubt should contact the organisation in question to verify the caller's intentions.
