Twelve complete Police recruit course

Twelve young Bermudians completed the Bermuda Police Service Recruit Foundation Course yesterday.The training course was the 69th one offered by the Bermuda Police Service. The former recruits are now Police officers.Governor, Sir John Vereker and Senator Lt. Col. David Burch, who is Minister of Public Safety & Housing attended a ceremony for the new officers along with other dignitaries. The new Police officers are: Constable Shirneil Furbert, Constable Anton Gilbert, Constable Ian Morrell, Constable Lesa Stovell, Constable Donavan Sweet, Constable Rajiv Bailey, Constable Kieran Bennett, Constable Vanessa Furbert, Constable Juan Looby, Constable Sandip Roy, Constable Kenten Trott and Constable Teshae Trott.

At the event PC Kenten Trott won the Academic Award, he maintained a 96 percent average during the course, and the Baton of Honour, for the best all around student officer.

Every year the recruits raise money for a charity, this time they raised $2,100 for the Bermuda Sunshine League.
