UK woman seeks boy who inspired prize-winning photograph

An amateur photographer is trying to track down a boy who served as a muse for an award winning photograph.

Pamela Brown, from Ringwood, on the South Coast of England, was taking pictures while on vacation last year and got a shot of a young boy with an 'interesting look in his eyes' at the annual 'Wahoo Weigh In' in Dockyard .

"The boy looked as though he was fed up, as though he was saying 'I've been here long enough now, can I go home please'," she explained.

Mrs. Brown cropped and enlarged the photo to focus in on the boy's face and entered it into a monthly competition held at the Ringwood Camera Club in the UK and to her surprise won first prize.

Though up against 40 other photographers, both amateurs and semi-professionals, the judge commended the detail in the picture saying it was a very powerful image, according to Mrs. Brown.

Mrs. Brown is currently on the Island again and is hoping to get in contact with the young boy or his parents so she can hand over the photo to them, free of charge.

Anyone who is able to identify the boy is asked to contact photographer Tamell Simons at 278-0165 or tsimons@ royalgazette.bm within the next two weeks.
