A Hamilton Parish woman was charged yesterday with stealing almost $250,000.

Lisa Marie Dawson, 37, was charged with stealing $248,578 from Capital G Bank between September 27 and November 15, 2004. The Aubrey Road resident was not required to enter a plea in Magistrates' Court because the matter must be heard in Supreme Court.

Dawson was bailed in the amount of $5,000 with one surety. She will re-appear in court for mention on September 11.
