Woman struck by car on pedestrian crossing

A woman suffered broken bones after being hit by a van on a pedestrian crossing on Saturday.According to the Police, the 42-year-old from Sandys was crossing Front Street outside Number One Shed around 7.30 a.m. when she was struck by the vehicle, which was travelling west.She suffered a fractured left shoulder, fractured right hand and an abrasion over her left eye, and was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

She suffered a fractured left shoulder, fractured right hand and an abrasion over her left eye, and was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman said the victim was in a stable condition yesterday.
The van driver, a 38-year-old Warwick man, was not injured.
