Man to be sentenced
A Pembroke man will be sentenced in March after he admitted attempting to steal a bottle of rum from the MarketPlace.
Richard Marshall, 27, of St John's Road, was seen by a packer on January 8 putting a bottle of Bacardi Gold in a paper bag and told staff, Magistrates' Court was told yesterday.
Senior Crown counsel Carrington Mahoney said Marshall went into a bathroom and when he came out a MarketPlace staff member questioned him.
Marshall attempted to run out of the store and was restrained by staff. He was later arrested and admitted to stealing the alcohol.
Marshall, who is unemployed, was remanded in custody until March 17 for sentencing. Pre-sentencing reports were ordered.
